We are a team of dedicated practitioners who offer a range of therapies to nurture the mind, body and spirit under one roof.
We understand that wellbeing is a dynamic process that is unique to individuals or communities that can be subject to change day to day. Therefore, we offer a tool kit of client-centred therapies to support and facilitate stress reduction. We understand that life challenges and distress undermine wellbeing. We offer a safe and confidential space for talking and touch therapies. We feel that maintaining our emotional wellbeing is a gateway to a happier life work balance.
Our philosophy is to cultivate self-care and independence to reset, rebalance and restore.
What we can offer?
We recognise wellbeing is unique to each individual and offer a range of therapies allowing staff to seek solutions with a single treatment approach or a combination of approaches.
Counselling and Psychotherapy
Counselling and Psychotherapy provide an opportunity for people to explore problems they may be experiencing or to talk through traumatic or distressing events in their lives. Sharing these with a trained professional can help you to come to terms with your feelings and find solutions to your problems.
Psychotherapy will allow you to examine feelings, actions and thoughts and to learn how to evaluate and adjust where appropriate. Counselling will enable you to explore personal development and to create adjustments to your life. Making a distinction between the two forms of therapy allows a better understanding of the process involved throughout the course of therapy. Both methods provide people with a way of dealing with change psychologically.
Counselling
Counselling is a type of talking therapy that allows a person to talk about their problems and feelings in a confidential and dependable environment.
A counsellor will offer a specialised service of communication that concentrates on providing a structure to the counselling experience. It helps people to identify problems and crises and encourages them to take positive steps to resolve these issues. It is a short-term process that encourages the change of behaviour.
A counsellor is trained to listen with empathy (by putting themselves in your shoes). They can help you deal with any negative thoughts and feelings you have.
Counselling is related to assisting clients’ in resolving problems in the here and now and mobilising clients’ strengths to assist in this process.
Psychotherapy
The aim of psychotherapy is to help clients overcome a wide scope of concerns. These concerns range from emotional difficulties to psychiatric disorders.
Psychotherapy helps people with psychological problems that have built up over the course of a long period of time. It will help you understand your feelings, thoughts and actions more clearly.
Psychotherapy is a longer-term process of treatment that identifies emotional issues and the background to problems and difficulties.
It can be more helpful for past trauma such as sexual abuse, rape or for complex bereavement.
Psychotherapists can choose from a wealth of approaches to help you understand and explore how you feel. Some therapists also teach skills to help you manage difficult emotions more effectively. For more severe conditions, such as psychosis, a psychotherapist will normally work with other professionals (such as psychiatrists). This allows for an effective, robust treatment plan.
Psychotherapy can be understood as “a journey for understanding the self”
Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy
We have qualified practitioners who can offer this service, providing clients with a deeper understanding of their thoughts, feelings and behaviour. It can enable clients to identify negative thought patterns and behavior and support them in developing strategies to overcome these.
Trauma
We are able to offer critical incident advice and provision, helping individuals and groups to understand the impact of trauma in the short and long term. We support those we work with to recognise and understand the impact of post-traumatic stress and provide advice, support and strategies in managing these symptoms.
Compassion fatigue is common amongst those in the helping professions and our therapists can support you with this, helping you to care for your self and understand the signs and symptoms, ensuring it doesn’t become overwhelming.
Vicarious trauma occurs when we deal with traumatic situations that begin to cause physical and psychological symptoms – disturbed sleep, anxiety, irritability, low mood, intrusive thoughts to name a few. Our practitioners can help you to understand the impact of this, recognise the signs and ensure you understand how to manage the symptoms and use self-care strategies to avoid this becoming a problem in work and at home.
Distress management techniques can help to support you with traumatic work and avoid this affecting your physical and psychological wellbeing.
Holistic Services
Our holistic therapists aim to nurture mind, body and soul.
Complementary and alternative therapies take a holistic approach to your physical and mental health. This means that they consider all aspects of your physical and emotional wellbeing as a whole, rather than treating particular symptoms separately.
From Nutrition to herbal medicine to reflexology, we have skilled practitioners offering a variety of holistic therapies tailored to you as an individual.
Facial Reflexology and Zone Facelift
Facial Reflexology is a gentle touch therapy like foot reflexology where the whole body is mapped out on the face via a network of pressure points. It is similar to acupuncture without the needles. The treatment is aimed at facilitating stress reduction, promoting deep relaxation and emotional release through a combination of massage and targeted work on specific facial reflexology points. The aim is to rebalance and restore the mind and body, allowing space for self-care. It can help with stress, can aid sleep by promoting relaxation and self-care techniques to be used in the home. It can be a preferable treatment for those who prefer non-talking therapies.
The Zone facelift is a unique treatment aimed at improving wellbeing and ageing well. It is a combination of facial reflexology and Japanese massage techniques. It is a non-invasive therapy that is aimed at releasing facial tension such as jaw and forehead tension. It helps to unfurrow brows, relax the face and lift the spirit and improve wellbeing. It is common for recipients to report feelings of calm, peace, release and a sense of restoration after a single treatment. The benefits can last for days and a programme of treatments can improve appearance including smoothing and lifting the face, contouring the jaw and cheeks. Our Zone Facelift practitioner has training in facial cupping and facial Guasha to further enhance the benefits.
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by ‘laying on hands’ and is based on the idea that unseen life force energy flows through us. If our life force energy is low, then we are more likely to get ill or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
A treatment feels like a glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including the body, the emotions, the mind and the spirit, creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Coaching & NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)
What is coaching?
Coaching begins as a conversation and coaches use a range of powerful and effective tools, models and techniques to tap into your inner resources.
A coach will work through your beliefs, values and patterns of behaviour, to help you to understand and appreciate your authentic self, while acting as an enabler, for you to make informed decisions about the positive changes and actions in your life.
Each session is individually tailored to your unique journey, goals and aspirations, whilst remaining flexible and open to your requirements and remaining mindful of your wellbeing
NLP
NLP is a method of influencing brain behaviour (the “neuro” part of the phrase), through the use of language (the “linguistic” part) and other types of communication, to enable a person to ‘recode’ the way the brain responds to stimuli (that’s the “programming”) and manifest new and better behaviours.
Neuro-Linguistic Programming: “a model of interpersonal communication chiefly concerned with the relationship between successful patterns of behaviour and the subjective experiences (esp. patterns of thought) underlying them” and “a system of alternative therapy based on this which seeks to educate people in self-awareness and effective communication, and to change their patterns of mental and emotional behaviour.”
NLP is a collection of tools and techniques that achieve results fast.
Reflexology
What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is a non-invasive form of holistic therapy, based on the idea that there are points on the hands and feet which correspond to organs, systems and structures in the body. There are thousands of nerve endings in the feet and it is thought that when pressure is applied to these areas and points, it stimulates the movement of energy along the nerve channels and helps to calm and restore balance to the body. It works on energy pathways similar to those in acupuncture.
Reflexology is very relaxing and has many benefits including:
· Boosting the immune system
· Reducing stress and anxiety
· Helping with hormonal imbalances
· Improving circulation and lymphatic flow
· Inducing sleep and balancing irregular sleep patterns
· Helping to reduce digestive problems related to stress and anxiety
· Promoting an overall sense of relaxation and well-being
Medical Herbalism
Our medical herbalist offers groups to help women experiencing the symptoms of the menopause and their partners. Groups enable people to come together to explore their experiences and receive nutritional and lifestyle support alongside natural remedies to help them counteract unwanted side effects. These groups help support and improve psychological and physical symptoms including, anxiety, low mood, disturbed sleep, hot flushes, weight problems and other symptoms related to the menopause.
Fees Practitioners charge varying fees and we are happy to discuss these and negotiate what works best for your organisation.
