I have been working as a Psychotherapist and Counsellor since 2000, following my first year of training, and qualified in 2006 with a Diploma in Person-Centred Psychotherapy and Counselling
Person-Centred Therapy works on the principle that all people have the desire to move in a positive direction and therefore know what is best for them. Through a safe and trusting environment, where you don’t feel judged but understood, you can begin to look at the things in your life that don’t feel right or that you would like to change. Within a relationship that is open and honest, you will feel able to explore patterns of relating to others and beliefs about yourself, gaining a better understanding of who you are and challenging fixed thoughts and ideas.
My first two years of training took place at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Institute in Nottingham and I completed my diploma with Temenos in Sheffield.

Since then I have completed a further certificate course in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy & Person-Centred Therapy: A Critical Dialogue and a Diploma in Person- Centred Clinical Supervision. I gained BACP accreditation in 2011.
I hold Level 1 and 2 certificates in Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy Level 1, an approved and recognised approach for working with children, young people and their families around adoption/fostering and the impact. I am currently working towards becoming an accredited DDP therapist having passed the midway practicum.
I have undertaken an Advanced Certificate in Therapeutic Life Story Work (the Rose model). TLSW is particularly beneficial for children and young people in care as well as for those who have been adopted.
I previously worked for Nottinghamshire County Council as a young people’s counsellor and was a clinical supervisor for the voluntary counsellors there. The service worked with children and young people aged between 10 and 25 years in a variety of settings.
From 2012 until 2017 I worked for Adoptionplus, offering counselling to birth relatives.
Since 2015 I have undertaken extensive work with adopted children and young people and their families through the Adoption Support Fund.
Please see my page on Couples, Relationship and Family Therapy for further details. I set up Lotus Therapy Centre in 2016. Please have a look through the Lotus Therapy Centre website to read about all the holistic therapies we provide.
I have significant experience of working with people of all ages and with a wide range of issues and also have a great deal of experience in the area of pregnancy and baby loss, infertility and working with young people.
